Evidence-informed postpartum pelvic floor strengthening and core recovery — using TightWave® and IntimaWave® technologies to help restore strength, stability, and confidence after baby.

Our postpartum rehabilitation program in Hamilton combines two advanced technologies — Fotona StarFormer TightWave for core muscle strengthening and IntimaWave for postpartum pelvic floor strengthening — designed to support new mothers' recovery and help improve core strength and pelvic floor function after childbirth.

Whether you've delivered vaginally or by C-section, this non-invasive treatment is designed to stimulate the abdominal and pelvic floor muscles as part of a comprehensive postpartum pelvic floor strengthening and rehabilitation program. It is intended to support core strength and pelvic floor function for women experiencing concerns such as diastasis recti (abdominal separation), pelvic floor weakness, back discomfort, or bladder leakage — common postpartum symptoms.

What’s Included
  • TightWave®: Targets deep abdominal and back muscles to rebuild core strength, correct posture, and support diastasis recti healing
  • IntimaWave®: Focuses on pelvic floor muscles to improve bladder control, support pelvic organs, and reduce heaviness or urgency
  • Tailored care plan based on your delivery history, symptoms, and recovery goals

Experiencing bladder leakage as part of your postpartum recovery? IntimaWave®, included in this program, also offers dedicated pelvic floor strengthening for incontinence on its own page — learn more about how it can help.

Your Privacy Matters

Yes! This program is perfect for those feeling weakness, instability, or loss of core control — especially after abdominal stretching or separation during pregnancy.

Can this help if I don’t feel connected to my core?

As soon as you’re 6–8 weeks postpartum and have clearance from your doctor or midwife. C-section clients must ensure the incision is healed.

When can I start after giving birth?

No — both technologies are completely non-invasive and external. You remain clothed during the session, and the sensation feels like deep muscle contractions or vibrations.

Is this treatment internal or painful?

  • TightWave® delivers electromagnetic pulses that deeply activate core muscles, mimicking high-intensity exercise.
  • IntimaWave® uses the same technology to stimulate pelvic floor contractions, improving tone and function.

How do TightWave® and IntimaWave® work?

FAQ's

Bladder leakage or urgency, pelvic heaviness or mild prolapse symptoms, ab separation (diastasis recti), postural issues or back pain, weakness or disconnection in the core or pelvic floor, and postpartum changes in intimate wellness or sensation.

What symptoms does this treat?

Yes — TightWave® specifically targets the deep abdominal muscles to help rebuild core strength and support diastasis recti recovery, working to address the abdominal separation that often occurs during pregnancy. Combined with IntimaWave® for postpartum pelvic floor strengthening, this program addresses both the core and pelvic aspects of recovery. Treatment recommendations are individualized following assessment, and results vary.
